The instruments below were stolen in a house burglary in East London at the beginning of December 2008. Please feel free to pass this information to other musicians who might be able to help. If you have any information, please contact Marilisa on valtazan@yahoo.co.uk
Guitars
- Norman electroacoustic 6-string guitar. The serial number is 05493462. It’s a black/grey guitar with a very distinctive matte finish to it and a cutaway. It has a Fishman pickup and a gash in the varnish at the back of the neck. It may or may not still be attached to a G7 capo.
- Esteve classical guitar. This is a 10-year-old guitar that had picked up several nicks and scratches over its lifetime, but nothing particularly distinctive.
- Eros electric guitar, Les Paul copy. Sunburst design.
- 12-string acoustic guitar. Pretty battered, but with new strings on it.
Other instruments
- Samick mandolin. An 8-string, 4-course mandolin with a pickup. Two dials on the front, and a tortoiseshell pickguard. It had brand new strings on it, and was attached to a somewhat frayed patterned strap.
- Cello. A student-level instrument (I think it was a Stentor). About 30 years old, very worn around the edges, especially at the bottom. It had some tape markings on the neck and a Tourte mute attached to it. The cello was stolen in its case (a black soft padded case with a bow compartment and two other pockets). There was np bow in the case, but there were some other bits and pieces: a purple hand-knit cleaning cloth, a blue StopPin gizmo to stop it slipping on the floor, a folder of music, spare Pirastro strings, and probably even my Morley College student card, though I doubt that will still be there!
- Yamaha PSR-330 keyboard. This, again, was stolen in its case (soft black padded case with a shoulder strap), which had the name M. Sampson and a postcode on it – so is likely to have been separated from it.
- Bodhran. Bodhran with a big Celtic pattern on the skin. It had a long piece of string attached to the crosspiece at the back. It was taken in its case (soft black padded case with a shoulder strap). The case also contained a double-ended white tipper, a wooden-handled, double-ended nylon brush, and a household paintbrush with gaffer tape around the metal bit.
Many thanks for your help.
